Communications, dates, payment records and available official records are examined for provenance, completeness and relevance. Screenshots alone do not replace preserved originals.
03 — Fair opportunity to respond
Before serious allegations identify a person or organization, editors record the allegations sent, delivery method, date and reasonable response deadline. Relevant responses are represented fairly; a later response may require a dated update.
04 — Independent editorial decision
Privacy, copyright, public interest and supported wording are reviewed. Serious criminal accusations require senior review. Only authorized editors can publish.
05 — Ongoing accountability
Corrections, documentary responses, new evidence, identity disputes and retractions receive a recorded review. Important changes carry a dated public notice.
