Fairness in Coverage
Shaker Global News seeks to represent material facts and perspectives fairly. Fairness does not require mechanical balance or equal treatment of claims that differ substantially in evidence or relevance.
When reporting significant criticism or allegations concerning an identifiable person or organization, SGN will ordinarily make reasonable efforts, where appropriate and practicable, to seek a response or otherwise represent a relevant response already available in the public record.
Right of Reply
An opportunity to respond does not guarantee that a response will be published in full or without editing. Responses may be summarized or edited for relevance, length, clarity, legal considerations, and consistency with editorial standards.
A refusal or failure to respond does not necessarily prevent publication when SGN believes the story can be responsibly supported.
