Where a relevant conflict cannot reasonably be avoided, disclosure or reassignment may be appropriate depending on the circumstances.

Reasonable hospitality, event access, or ordinary professional courtesies should be handled with judgment and should not create an obligation to provide favorable treatment.

Advertisers, sponsors, vendors, partners, or donors should not receive undisclosed editorial privileges because of a financial relationship. Any sponsored or paid material should be labeled in a manner reasonably understandable to readers.

Potential conflicts, improper payments, or attempts to influence coverage should be raised internally for review. SGN may revise procedures as the organization grows and establishes more formal editorial roles.
