Conduct, not nationality
Our reporting concerns individual conduct and documented cases. It must never be interpreted as a judgment against an entire country, nationality, religion or community.
Evidence and accurate classification
Every accusation requires supporting evidence. Published reports distinguish documented fact, firsthand account, allegation, opinion, SGN analysis, official finding, court judgment and unconfirmed information. Personal certainty is not a substitute for evidence.
Right of reply
An identifiable party facing serious allegations receives the principal allegations and a reasonable opportunity to respond. SGN records delivery, deadline and the response or absence of a response. Relevant later responses are considered for transparent updates.
Privacy and vulnerable people
Evidence is private by default. Public reporting must redact sensitive financial and identity information and protect minors and vulnerable people. No government identification documents are displayed on writer profiles.
Contributor responsibilities
Writers must preserve original evidence, distinguish firsthand and secondhand knowledge, disclose conflicts, avoid fabrication and plagiarism, respect copyright and cooperate with corrections. A contributor agreement prepared or reviewed by qualified counsel is required before writer approval. A contract does not eliminate SGN’s responsibility to third parties.
Independent authority
The Foundation may refer evidence and contribute research. Referral does not guarantee publication. SGN retains final editorial authority; the Foundation is not a court, regulator, police agency or government investigative authority.
Corrections and challenges
Readers and named parties may submit documentary responses, privacy or copyright concerns, identity disputes and new evidence. Material changes, corrections and retractions carry dated notices.
